Looking at our ILL-service since its start (2018):  data, findings, challenges and perspectives

Presenter: Joris Baeyens, Assistant Librarian ILL and Acquisitions (Ghent University, Library of Arts and Philosophy, Belgium)

Abstract:

In my presentation I will talk about the evolution that our ILL-service has gone through since its start in 2018. First I will give a short introduction of our library in general than I will go deeper into the working of our ILL service. In the core of my presentation I will talk about the formats  that our ILL-service deals with on daily basis, namely: journal articles, books and book chapters.  It turns out that each of these formats have their own pecularities.  Attention will be given to the challenges and perspectives that these formats face with when it comes to  ILL. Such as: the ease of journal articles; the restrictive nature of e-books for ILL ; the rise of controlled digital lending (CDL) programs that aim to  facilitate ILL of print books.
